According to the Athletic, Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson is set to sign a new long-term deal amidst Manchester United links.
The 18-year-old will pen a contract that runs until June 2028 and he will continue to develop under the stewardship of Roberto De Zerbi.
Ferguson has netted eight times this season whilst providing two assists in 19 appearances for the Seagulls.
Ferguson joined the South Coast club in January 2021 after completing a move from Irish club Bohemians as a 16-year-old.
Speaking ahead of Brighton’s mid-week fixture, De Zerbi said: “It’s important for us, very important news. He can improve a lot with us.
“Brighton have the right conditions for young players and he is 18, we mustn’t forget that.
“He is playing very well. Man United (in the FA Cup) was bad for us without him, because he has different qualities, can give us different solutions in the last 20 metres.”
Brighton travel to the East Midlands this week to face relegation-threatened Nottingham Forrest at the City Ground on Wednesday evening before hosting Wolverhampton Wanders on Saturday at the Amex Stadium.
