Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said he likes ‘dynamic football’ and insists he doesn’t want to play ‘boring football’.
United defeated Barcelona 2-1 at Old Trafford on Thursday evening to progress through to the last 16 of the Europa League.
Speaking following the game, ten Hag said:
“We love to face hostile atmospheres, to face big opponents… and keep them quiet.
“I like dynamic football. I like speed. I don’t like boring football. I like football that entertains the people – and you do that with speed.”
United face Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup (EFL Cup) final at Wembley stadium this Sunday before hosting West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup three days later.
The Red Devils have failed to win a major trophy since their Europa League triumph back in 2017 under José Mourinho.
Since ten Hag’s appointment last summer, the 53-year-old has won 28 games out of 39, drawing five while losing six.
