Erik ten Hag confident of signing Mason Mount

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is confident he can persuade Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount to join the Red Devils, as reported by The Telegraph.

The 24-year-old’s contract is due to expire next summer and the 36-cap England international looks set to depart Stamford Bridge with Liverpool and Arsenal also keen on securing his services.

Mount has largely struggled to replicate his standards set in recent years this season after scoring three league goals in 24 appearances.

Although, Chelsea as a whole have underperformed this campaign with the West London club finishing 12th on 44 points, their lowest ever points total in the Premier League era.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino was announced as the new Blues head coach on Monday which will certainly provide optimism for Chelsea fans ahead of the new season.

The Premier League transfer window is set to reopen on Wednesday, June 14, though only domestic deals can be completed between June 14th and July 1st.
