Exclusive | Dwight Yorke reveals his current favourites for the Premier League title

In an exclusive interview with Get Football, thanks to AltIndex.com, Dwight Yorke said he currently has Liverpool as his title favourites.

When asked who he thinks will win the league, Yorke said: “Liverpool…. The only team that might be able to stop them (Manchester City) is Liverpool, because of their experience.”

Liverpool currently sit top of the table after 16 games played. They hold a slender one point lead over Arsenal, who slipped up against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Yorke had some criticism for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, saying: “Arteta makes a lot of noise but I think the inexperience of seeing it over the line might just again hamper them from winning the league.”

Arsenal were on track to win the league last season before dropping nine points across four games in the title run-in. A lack of squad depth and a young team were seen as the reasons why they couldn’t get over the line and the ex-Manchester United striker doesn’t see them being able to finish the job this season either.

Manchester City are the third team in the title conversation and after winning the treble and three Premier League titles in a row last season, a feat which Yorke himself managed, the 52 year old said he understands why Manchester City have slightly dropped off this season.

He said: “Whatever they do will be deemed a failure unless they win the treble again.”
