David Moyes’ future hinges on Europa Conference League final

West Ham United manager David Moyes could be sacked if his side lose to Serie A outfit Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final in Prague next Wednesday, according to Jacob Steinberg.

In what was a difficult season for the Hammers, the 60-year-old ultimately steered the club away from the relegation zone and subsequently finished 14th, six points clear of the drop.

However, due to their league finish, Steinberg believes the club are ‘pondering’ on whether to keep the Scotsman with ‘a lot’ hinging on Wednesday’s outcome.

West Ham lost 2-1 to the later relegated Leicester City on the final day of the Premier League campaign which marked their 20th league defeat of the season, six more than the previous year.

After spending €194.00m across the summer and winter transfer windows, expectations were certainly raised and it now appears Moyes has one game to salvage his future at the East London Club.

A victory in Prague will see the Hammers return to the Europa League.
