Darwin Núñez assisted Mohamed Salah’s first goal of the afternoon in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Brentford on Sunday afternoon as the pair’s partnership continues to blossom.
According to Opta, Núñez and Salah are the duo that have created the most chances between themselves (19) while assisting each other the most times (5) in the Premier League this season. Salah has created 13 chances in comparison to Núñez’ six, while Salah has one assist with Núñez creating four.
After a difficult start to life at Anfield following his €80m move from Benfica in July 2022, Núñez is now establishing himself as a key player under Jürgen Klopp. The Uruguayan has 13 goal contributions (seven goals and six assists) in 17 games across all competitions this season, averaging a contribution every 67 minutes.
In addition to his output, according to FBRef, no player in the Premier League has more Shots on Target/90 than Núñez (2.4) while he also leads the way for Non-Penalty Goals and Assists/90 (1.2) this season.
Salah meanwhile has 10 goals and four assists in 12 Premier League games this season and is in the 99th percentile for Non-Penalty Goals (0.56) and Touches (8.09) per 90 minutes this season.
