Dalić: “We don’t just want to build a team, we want results.”

Speaking before Croatia’s key World Cup Group F meeting with Canada tomorrow, Croatian coach Zlatko Dalić defended his squad’s quality after a frustrating opening draw with Morocco earlier this week. Dalić explained:

“It is true that in Russia 2018 the squad was well known… [Here] we have a wide and strong selection of players and I don’t believe that it will be a big mistake, whoever we choose, but it was a different story back then. Our first team consisted of players from Liverpool, Real Madrid, Inter, Juventus, Milan and Barcelona… Now it’s something new. I wouldn’t say that I don’t trust them, but this is a new generation. We’re building a team, but we don’t just want to build a team, we also want to get results.”
