Chelsea could terminate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract

According to SPORT, Chelsea may terminate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract this summer after less than 12 months at the West London club.

Aubemeyang joined the club from Barcelona in a €12m switch last September just seven days prior to Thomas Tuchel’s sacking.

According to the report, the Gabon international has made clear his desire to rejoin the Catalan side and he could even take a pay cut to force through the move.

The 33-year-old has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this season scoring three times whilst assisting once.

Aubameyang has been cut from the Champions League squad and his game time of late has been scarce with Potter often opting to start Kai Havertz at striker.

The 72-cap international has been left out of the match-day squad in five out of the last seven Premier League games, only appearing off the bench for seven minutes during Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
