Chelsea considering move for Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán

As per Matt Law of The Telegraph and Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are considering a move for Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán.

Although the London club have made no decision as to whether to pursue a deal yet, internal talks are ongoing to decide the next steps, however it is said to also be dependent on the future on Armando Broja.

Broja has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window, with The Blues understood to be open to the sale of the Albanian striker, amidst considerations over their compliance with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations, due to Broja being an academy graduate, meaning his sale would represent a pure profit on Chelsea’s books.

Furthermore, according to Sky Sports, Fulham and Wolves are of exploring terms of a potential deal, and it is understood Chelsea are willing to sell the 22-year-old for £50m.

As for Durán, the move for the Colombian international comes as somewhat of a surprise, with the 20-year-old only having scored three goals in six starts and 23 appearances for The Villans following his €16m move from MLS side Chicago Fire in January 2023.

Whilst all six of these starts have come in the Europa Conference League, Durán has showed glimpses of his talent off the bench in the English top flight – scoring an astounding left-footed volley against Crystal Palace, and impressing with his hard-work, pace, physicality, and ability to frequently get shots away in dangerous, chaotic situations in-and-around the box

More updates will follow over transfers of both Broja and Durán, as it is believed that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have scheduled direct contacts with both players to decide on their future.
