Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday that Chelsea are advancing on a deal for Moisés Caicedo. Talks are progressing on the player side, and personal terms are close to being agreed.
It is understood there is a pact between Roberto De Zerbi and Caicedo that will allow the Ecuadorian midfielder to leave the club. Brighton expected to want around £80m, and negotiations will take place between Chelsea and Brighton to decide this fee, and the structure of the deal.
Caicedo made 43 appearances this season for the Seagulls in all competitions, scoring one goal, and providing one assist. But it is his defensive work in midfield that catches the eye.
The 21-year-old is valued at €55.00m by Transfermarkt, but Brighton are looking for more than this valuation due to the interest held in the player, previously linked with Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and of course Chelsea.
Talks are expected to take place between Chelsea and Brighton next week, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
