Bruno Fernandes won’t talk about Ronaldo interview: “I did not read it.”

Bruno Fernandes has refused to talk about Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan after Portugal’s 4-0 win against Nigeria.

Portugal played their last friendly-match on Thursday before facing Ghana next week. Fernando Santos’ men had now difficulties putting Nigeria aside in the Estádio José Alvalade. Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes was the big man on Portugal’s side, scoring two goals.

The midfielder was content with his side’s last showing before the World Cup. “We know we have a capable team and today that has been demonstrated,” he said, as quoted by A Bola. “It’s an important step towards what’s coming.”

Cristiano Ronaldo, who didn’t feature against Nigeria, has been dominating the headlines for the past few days because of an interview he gave to Piers Morgan. One of the main things Ronaldo did, was criticizing his club Manchester United. Fernandes and Ronaldo already shared an awkward handshake moment earlier this week and now Fernandes has refused to talk about his teammate’s interview. “I only talk about the national team and from day to day. Manchester United is for after the World Cup.”

In further quotes from Sky Sports, Bruno Fernandes reaffirmed that he has no problem with Cristiano:

“I have no problem with anyone. I am doing my work and like the coach said to me one day, all that you can control is yourself. I think that everyone is thinking in the same way, you need to control yourself, give the best of yourself and that is all… I did not read his interview, so it is ok… Now, to the national team.”
