Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club have registered their interest in Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba. The development comes after Brighton declared their interest in signing a central midfielder. Manager Roberto De Zebri seems committed to filling up the spot as along with Baleba, the club has also shortlisted Arsenal central midfielder Albert Lokonga. It will be interesting to observe who Brighton ends up signing.
As per a tweet from journalist Fabrizio Romano, Brighton has submitted a new proposal to Ligue 1 team Lille, to sign Carlos Baleba. The tweet mentioned the deal from the club is worth €25m plus add-on. But, as of now, the clubs have not reached an agreement. However, the negotiations between the two teams are set to continue. If the deal falls apart for Brighton, they will look to sign Carlos Baleba.
Last season, Carlos Baleba impressed while playing for Lille. The 19-year-old made 25 appearances in all competitions and registered two assists. However, Baleba’s major contribution came defensively. During the games he played for Lille, Baleba was extremely useful in winning aerial duels and blocking the ball. He also displayed great passing abilities. If Brighton can sign Baleba, he will be expected to do great things in the Premier League.
