Brighton preparing new record bid for Levi Colwill

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Brighton are preparing a new record bid, worth close to £40m for Levi Colwill which will be submitted soon.

Chelsea turned down a £30m bid last week from Brighton, and it is said that Chelsea have no intention to sell Colwill, as they view him as part of their long term plans.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at The Seagulls, making 17 Premier League appearances, and providing two assists in those games.

The English central defender became a key asset to Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton, and the way they play out from the back. Transfermarkt currently value Colwill at 16.00m, however this is very low compared to the numbers being quoted, due to his age and potential ceiling as a player.

Colwill is another player to have come through the Chelsea academy, and he is appreciated throughout the club. After enjoying two successful loan spells with Huddersfield Town and Brighton, it is said that Chelsea plan to integrate the youngster in to the first team.
