The Athletic have reported that Ben Foster has signed a new one-year contract with Wrexham.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper joined Wrexham in March 2023, after a short period of retirement in 2022 when Foster left Watford.
The English shot stopper helped secure promotion for Wrexham, winning the National League with a record 111 points, a record now held across the top five divisions of English football.
Foster made a penalty save in the 96th minute against Notts County to win the game 3-2. Notts County were hot on Wrexham’s heels that this point, falling short at the final hurdle and finishing second with 107 points.
The ex England international has had a very long and established career in the English divisions, playing for the likes of Stoke City, Manchester United, Watford, Birmingham, West Brom and Wrexham.
Foster will now stay at Wrexham to compete in EFL League Two, the clubs first time back in the Football League following a 15 year wait.
