Barcelona and an unnamed club want to sign Manchester City midfielder İlkay Gündoğan with the German still yet to decide his future, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Romano further states Gündoğan is taking his time to sign a new contract with the Premier League Champions due to the fact it would ultimately be the final chapter of his career, thus staying in Manchester.
The 32-year-old joined the Citizens from Borussia Dortmund back in 2016 for a transfer fee reportedly worth €27m and has since gone on to make 290 appearances scoring 52 goals whilst assisting 37.
Manchester City host Liverpool this weekend at the Etihad Stadium before making the 452.2 mile round trip to St Mary’s to take on relegation-threatened Southampton.
Pep Guardiola’s side currently sit eight points behind league-leaders Arsenal with a game in-hand heading into the final stages of the season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal host Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium before travelling away to face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side a week on Sunday.
