Speaking at his press conference before Australia’s final Group D game with Denmark in Qatar, Socceroos coach Graham Arnold continued to invute doubt over his future after the World Cup. Arnold’s contract is up following the tournament and, despite his players supporting an extended tenure, the coach remains unsure, saying:
“When you say my contract is up, I’ve seen out four and a half years. I look at it that for the first time in four and a half years, I have my future in my own hands and I can do what I want. I will need a break after this, but I’m just here for the next couple of weeks to help the nation, help the boys fulfil their dreams.”
Australia need to beat Denmark to be sure of making the second round in Qatar after a 1-0 win over Tunisia which followed a 4-1 loss to the holders, France.
