Arsenal preparing second bid for Jurrien Timber

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Arsenal are preparing a second bid for Ajax player Jurrien Timber. This offer is expected to be submitted soon, following a green light on the players side.

Mikel Arteta has approved Timber as a priority target for the Gunners this window, in an attempt to bolster his defensive options in depth.

The 22-year-old defender made 47 appearances for Ajax in all competitions this season, scoring two goals, providing two assists, and keeping 15 clean sheets.

Transfermarkt currently value Timber at 42.00m, but the fee for the Dutch International is expected to be more than this fee, due to his young age and potential ability.

Ajax came third in the Eredivisie this season, finishing with 69 points, 13 points off of top spot. This was the first campaign where Ajax did not win the Eredivisie since the 2017/18 season, when they finished second place to PSV Eindhoven.
