Arsenal ‘appreciate’ Iván Fresneda

Arsenal ‘appreciate’ Real Valladolid right-back Iván Fresneda but they have not sent any official proposal for the 18-year-old despite reports, according to Fabrizio Romano.

There have been no concrete negotiations and the race remains open for Fresneda, who is of interest to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

The Spaniard has made 22 appearances in LaLiga this season for the relegation-threatened Valladolid, who sit 18th, one point adrift of safety ahead of their crunch game versus Getafe this Sunday.

The Gunners have often deployed Benjamin White at right-back this season, although, the 25-year-old has typically operated at centre-back throughout his career.

As such, it wouldn’t at all be surprising if the club do decide to sign a right-back this summer in order to move White back to his familiar position.

After challenging for the Premier League title for much of the campaign, the North London club fell short and ultimately finished second. However, despite the initial disappointment, Arsenal can be proud of their season as the club prepare to return to the Champions League for the first time since 2017.
