According to David Ornstein, Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Jorginho for a fee worth £12m.
The 31-year-old is expected to undergo a medical today at Arsenal’s training ground and will sign a contract running until 2024 with the option of a further year.
With the imminent arrival of the Italian midfielder, Arsenal’s pursuit for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moisés Caicedo appears to be off.
Despite chasing the signature of the Ecuadorian throughout the window, Brighton are adamant the 21-year-old is not for sale.
Jorginho has made 213 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club from Napoli in 2018 for a fee in the region of €57m.
With the Gunners currently sitting top of the Premier League, Mikel Arteta will be keen to add experience in their bid to win the title.
Jorginho has won the Champions League, Europa League and the Euro’s during his career.
