Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni: “We’re not changing our style because of what happened.”

As quoted by El Grafico, speaking on the eve of his team’s second World Cup group game in Qatar against Mexico, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni said he would not change his style of play despite a shock opening 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia earlier this week. Scaloni explained:

“We are not going to change our way of playing because of what happened on Tuesday. We have to turn the page and think only about beating Mexico and nothing else… the only thing left is to get up. And this group knows how to do that, I have no doubts about that… What are we playing tomorrow? A soccer game. We know we have the responsibility of a whole country on us but we’re also calm knowing that we’re going to give everything. We have an important game tomorrow but, luckily, everything depends on us. I keep telling everyone to believe, one stumble can’t change our course. Nervousness is normal when you start a World Cup in Argentina’s shirt. It’s different from any other team.”
