Alexis Mac Allister discussions advancing with Liverpool

Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is in talks with Liverpool and discussions are advancing according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano further reports Mac Allister will ‘100% leave Brighton’ and the move will take place in early May or June but the deal has not yet been completed.

The 24-year-old’s stock has risen significantly since winning the World Cup in Qatar with Argentina and his performances have clearly caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp.

Mac Allister joined the Seagulls from Argentinos Juniors in January 2019 for a fee believed to be in the region of €8m before being sent back on loan to his boyhood club.

The Argentine also joined Boca Juniors on a season-long loan in July 2019 before being recalled in January under then Brighton boss Graham Potter.

“We’re delighted to have Alexis with us for the rest of this season, having now been granted his work permit. He will give us another attacking option from midfield. He is creative and capable of scoring goals,” Potter said in 2020.

Mac Allister has made over 100 appearances for Albion, scoring 18 goals whilst providing eight assists.

Transfermarkt value the midfielder at €42.00m, although one would expect Brighton to demand a higher fee if he is to join Liverpool.
