Fabrizio Romano has reported that Al Ittihad and Liverpool are close to a deal for Fabinho. Documents have to be checked, but the deal is very close.
Fabinho has been authorised to travel for the first part of his medical with Al Ittihad, whilst Liverpool wait to check the documents. Once this is done, the deal will be completed.
The 29-year-old midfielder made 49 appearances for Liverpool in the 2022/23 campaign, providing two assists, and contributing to 18 clean sheets, playing in the defensive midfield position.
Liverpool finished 5th in the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, missing out on Champions League football for the first time since finishing 8th in the 2015/16 season.
Transfermarkt currently value Fabinho at €42.00m, however it is unknown whether the fee from Al Ittihad will be close to this value.
The Brazilian midfielder would join Karim Benzema, N’golo Kante, and Jota at Al Ittihad, who have all signed for the club this summer.
